 Post subject: Dead of Night Site Opens + Programming Updates

After a week or two of pain-staking hard work (STAKING, haha, get it?), the site is FINALLY done! That being said, head over to http://www.donmod.com and see the final product!



The site is beneficial, as it offers multiple ways to stay connected to the mod. Such as:
- Our ModDB Page (DoN @ ModDB)
- Our Facebook Page (DoN @ Facebook)
- Our Steam Group (DoN Steam Group)
- Our Forums (Dead of Night Forums)
- Our Twitter Account (Dead of Night Twitter)

In addition, we recommend anyone who supports the mod to sign up to the forums and join in on any discussion. We have room for suggestions on just about anything. The more input you give us, the more we can apply to the final product.

On the flip side, a lot of programming has been going on lately. FeareD has been working hard since he first joined the team. We've currently implemented:
- Round-based game play
- All classes and weapon (placeholders)
- Vampire High Jump
- Vampire Long Jump
- The first Vampire special ability (not yet to be announced)

You can look forward to a 'secretive' news post within the next week. Let us give you a hint, it's a behind the scenes video and it involves fruit! We'll leave the rest up to your imagination :)

At least somebody here knows an awesome vampire movie when they see it. Glad i'm not the only one who liked John Carpenters vampires, haha.

Just discovered this mod was in development and making good progress. As a veteran player of the original VS mod, it seems that your team is commited to resurrecting its simplistic fun and addicting gameplay. I've seen a lot of people on your old forums making some off the wall suggestions that would just make the game way too complicated and I'm guessing its folks that have not played VS. Sticking close to the original formula will = win, guaranteed. I am beyond excited about this mod gentlemen, what I have seen so far looks incredible...can't wait to start slaying bloodsuckers again! Best wishes!

P.S. And yes, John Carpenter's Vampires imho is the king of the them all. The best thing about it is it stays away from the whole Dracula/Twilight/Anime junk. In Carpenter's universe, borrowing words from the venerable Jack Crow, Vampires are not "a bunch of **** hopin' around in rented formal wear and seducing everybody in sight with cheesy eurotrash accents." They are savage, ugly monsters of the night with superhuman strength that can only be killed with a stake through the heart or exposure to sunlight. If you were to choose one Vampire movie universe that the VS mod would fit into...it would no doubt have to be John Carpenter's Vampires.
